R U Kidding me! Why did you have participants write a summary of why they would like to have the book, if you were just doing a random drawing ? Not cool.

We stated up front that this was going to be a random drawing. We still requested ideas on what you are doing to attract wildlife, because this is a forum for using and appreciating Florida's fantastic native plants for a wide variety of reasons. Attracting wildlife is one reason to plant and encourage native plants in your yard. Maybe some of the comments gave others ideas that they could implement in their yards. Craig and University Press of Florida have done a wonderful job with this book. I hope lots of Floridians will purchase copies for themselves or to give away as holiday gifts. What could be greener?

Also called Romerillo, Beggar’s Tick, Spanish Needle or Monkey’s Lice, this Florida native wildflower is the third most reliable source of nectar for pollinators in our state. There would be many starving bees and butterflies if not for the Bidens family of flowers. More so, Bidens alba and its sister plant, Bidens pilosa , are both edible and have medicinal value. Yet, many gardeners have a love/hate relationship the plant, and some even consider it a pesky weed. Why?

Paradise Tree: Beautiful and Useful
